Pets around the world blessed for Feast of Saint Francis

Dogs, cats, tortoises and even a rooster were blessed on 4 October, in celebrations to mark the Feast of Saint Francis of Assisi.

Churches around the world hold special services every year to honour of the patron saint of animals, and many parishioners bring their pets and livestock along.
