Peterborough fans react to EFL Trophy win against Wycombe

Polly Knight, 41, admitted “nails were being bitten” late in the game when Wycombe equalised ahead of Burrows’ winning goal.

“In the second half, every time we scored, they were straight back and that just makes it so stressful to watch,” she said.

“We played well, we lost a few opportunities, but we got the result we needed in the end.”

She said she was “ecstatic” about the win.

Son Jenson, 11, said it was his first visit to Wembley and that the whole experience came “pretty top” in his life so far.

He said the world-famous London venue was “amazing; it’s such a big stadium”.

Of the match itself, he said: “It was very nerve-racking, it was hard when they scored back straight away.”

He named Burrows his man of the match.
