Notts County: League Two club says fan taken ill at game is set to leave hospital

Notts County have confirmed a supporter who was taken ill before their League Two fixture at Newport County is set to be discharged from hospital.

Rodney Parade was evacuated to allow two air ambulances to land on the pitch after Stephen Silver suffered a medical emergency before the match on 2 August.

Two days later, the club wrote on social media that Silver “remained in a serious condition but was responding well to treatment”.

A follow-up statement on Tuesday, external said: “We’re delighted to report that Stephen Silver will be discharged from hospital this afternoon.”
