Northampton’s Kautilya Katariya,10, gets A* in A-level maths

The pupil, from Wootton Park School, admitted to being “quite excited but also a little bit nervous” before picking up his result.

He studied for the exam using an online teaching site – MyEdSpace – and had consistently achieved either an A grade or an A* in his practise tests.

Kautilya’s tutor, Neil Trivedi, said: “Getting this result as an 18-year-old is extremely tough, and Kautilya did it as a 10-year-old.

“I am pretty lost for words here.”

The boy’s talents have not gone unnoticed and in 2022 he attended the World Government Summit in Dubai where he was invited by the prime minister’s office in the UAE to speak about how governments around the world could support young people like himself and ignite innovation.

Kautilya is hoping to study A-level further maths and physics, but outside of the schoolroom, he enjoys origami, swimming, badminton and playing with his little brother.
