Newport County warn fans over ‘unacceptable behaviour’

“During recent home fixtures, the club has unfortunately recorded a number of serious incidents of unacceptable behaviour from individuals within the Terrace area,” the statement said.

“We want to be clear that abusive, discriminatory or threatening behaviour of any kind will not be tolerated.

“Individuals found responsible for such conduct risk facing sanctions which may include ejection from the stadium, suspension or banning from future matches, and potential involvement from the relevant authorities.”

Newport added that the behaviour of some in the stands reflects badly on their wider fanbase.

“Due to repeated issues in recent weeks, the club must also advise that should further incidents occur, the area behind the dugouts within the Terrace may be closed, as has been necessary in previous seasons,” they added.

Newport are in the fourth tier relegation zone despite taking seven points from four games before losing 2-1 to Colchester.

Christian Fuchs’ side go to Barnet this Saturday, with league leaders Bromley the next visitors to Newport on Tuesday, 17 March.
