New police appeal over 1989 crash that killed boy in Dundee

The HGV driver, Colin Nicoll, has never been charged with any offence regarding the incident.

The Leech family said the appeal was ” in the hope that after all these years someone will come forward to give info, no matter how small or seemingly trivial”.

They added that any additional details could “allow the authorities to come to a proper conclusion in their investigations and thereby secure justice for Danny Leech and closure for us all.”

Police Scotland Insp Roy McCarney said the force were carrying out a “comprehensive review” into the information the family have gathered and urged anyone who saw the incident to come forward, external.

He added: “We fully appreciate the impact that Danny’s death has had on his family over the past 35 years and understand their desire for more information about the circumstances.”
