‘My greedy husband keeps eating my food – now we’re in a big fight’

One woman has taken to Mumsnet for help after her husband kept eating all her food.

Food fights might seem small, but they happen a lot. Maybe you didn’t like your meal at a restaurant and tried some of your partner’s, or perhaps you nearly split up over not wanting a Friday night takeaway.

The thing is, people in Britain really care about their food – and one lady is really fed up with her hungry husband.

On Mumsnet, she said her husband keeps taking her food without asking. When she asks him why, he says he thought no one else wanted it and it would be thrown away.

“I know it’s a petty situation, but I can’t help but get upset/annoyed when I don’t finish my food/snack, step away from the table (to help our child for example) and come back to an empty plate because he ate it,” she wrote.

She added: “It happens frequently and it’s always the same excuse. I don’t yell at him, just complain. But now, he gets upset.”

They had a ‘big fight’ about it, and he called her ‘cheap’. The woman said the situation had left them both upset and unsure what to do.

Many people shared their opinions in the comment section and perhaps unsuprisingly, not many of them were on the husband’s side.

One person wrote: “Sorry, your husband is such a greedy pig that he can’t even let you come back to your own plate.”

Another said: “That’s awful and so greedy.” They even suggested the wife should spoil her leftovers by “pouring loads of salt” on the food to teach her husband a lesson.

While another added: “Sounds like he needs to get off his a** and help with the kids etc as he can’t be trusted.”
