Monkey escapes from Highland Wildlife Park in Cairngorms

The Japanese macaque – also known as a snow monkey – is about the size of a medium-sized dog once it reaches adulthood.

Honshu, who escaped two years ago, was part of a troop of 37 animals at the park.

RZSS said at the time he may have been trying to avoid a fight with others in the group when he escaped.

The troop was in the midst of its breeding season and keepers said tensions could sometimes run high.
