Men jailed over £130,000 watch robbery in Oxford

Two men have been jailed for robbing a man of a £130,000 watch as he sat on a bench outside a church.

The visitor to Oxford was the victim of a “calculated and organised” attack in broad daylight in May 2022, police previously said.

Four men followed him to St Aldates Church before knocking him down and snatching the Richard Mille watch from his wrist, detectives added.

Walid Sadaoui, 29, of Hackney, London, was jailed for five years at Oxford Crown Court. Reit Nicholas, 34, received a 10-year sentence at Southwark Crown Court.

Previously, police said the victim, in his 30s, was pushed off a bench during the attack at 13:40 BST on 14 May.

Detectives released CCTV images of four men who running near the scene.

Sadaoui was found guilty of robbery in September after a trial and was jailed on Thursday.

Nicholas, who was sentenced on 14 October, previously pleaded guilty to two counts of robbery and one of theft.
