Manchester United: When was the last time they won five games in a row?

Manchester United are currently on a four-match winning streak that began in January, all of which have come under interim manager Michael Carrick.

United’s streak began with a 2-0 derby win against Manchester City on 17 January.

This was followed by a 3-2 away victory over Arsenal on 25 January, a 3-2 home win over Fulham on 1 Februry, and a 2-0 win home against Tottenham on 7 February.

To make it five in a row, United will need to beat West Ham away in their Tuesday night Premier League game at 20:15 GMT.

It means that a United fan who has gone viral in the last year for pledging not to have a haircut until the team has won five games in a row may be on the brink of a trip to the barbers.

Frank Ilett started growing his hair in October 2024 to “spread some humour” after a tough start to the season.

He has been documenting the long journey on his social media account, ‘The Last Strand’.

“It’s been an absolutely crazy journey – I never expected my hair, or my following, to be as big as it has become,” he said.

The last time the Red Devils came close to five consecutive wins was in January 2025 when they beat Rangers, Fulham and FCSB.

“The perfect ending would be one of the players to cut it at Old Trafford.”

United have failed to win five Premier League games in a row since a run of four victories at the end of the 2022-23 season, and another in the first game of the following season.

The last time Man Utd won five consecutive matches was in February 2024 under former manager Erik ten Hag.

Their five game winning streak began on 28th January 2024 with an FA Cup victory over Newport County.

This was followed by a 4-3 win over Wolves, a 3-0 victory over West Ham, a 2-1 win against Aston Villa and a 2-1 triumph over Luton Town.

United’s run of victories to an end after they were beaten by Fulham.
