A resident of a Falkirk hotel housing asylum seekers is to stand trial accused of sexual indecency.

Said Ageed, 23, denies flashing, performing sex acts and making obscene gestures towards two local people from a window at the Hotel Cladhan.

Falkirk Sheriff Court heard the acts are alleged to have taken place at the hotel between 1 June and 16 August.

Mr Ageed denied the charges and the trial will take place on 7 November.

Mr Ageed is accused of intentionally engaging in sexual activity in the presence of a man and woman on a number of occasions by masturbating while looking at them through a hotel window.

He is also accused of making an obscene gesture at the same two people on 16 August and intentionally exposing his genitals to them in a sexual manner with the intention that they should see them.

The proceedings were interpreted into Kurdish for Ageed, who is on bail.

The hotel, on the town’s Kemper Avenue, has been the scene of repeated recent rival protests involving pro and anti-immigration demonstrators.

Earlier this week police launched an investigation after a brick was thrown through one of the windows of the hotel.

It began housing asylum seekers in August 2022.
