Man rescued after getting stuck on muddy beach near Cleethorpes

In its Facebook post, the coastguard said the rescue was hampered by the mud being wetter and “more fluid than normal”, external.

“Every time the techs removed the mud from the casualty’s legs, it ran straight back into the hole, severely hindering the extraction.”

The area regularly sees people and vehicles having to be rescued after getting stuck in the mud.

The coastguard said that anybody who gets trapped should “remain calm, stay still, sit or lay down to distribute your weight” and call for help.

“Please do not encourage bystanders to execute a rescue,” the coastguard added.

“They will become casualties.”
