Bowler Timm van der Gugten says he is “really proud” to have reached a century of appearances for Glamorgan and wants to stay for the “long haul”.

Van der Gugten has taken over 260 first class wickets during his 10 years at Glamorgan with the current County Championship game at Warwickshire marking his 100th appearance.

The 35-year-old Australia-born Netherlands international joined in 2016 and has a year remaining on his current deal.

“Glamorgan took a little bit of a punt on me and I’m obviously very grateful for being at the club for 10 years,” van der Gugten told BBC Sport Wales.

“When I first came over I’d only played a handful of first class games.

“To play 100 games for them is a real honour – I’m really proud about it to be honest.

“My life is over here now – I’ve got a young family and wife – and I love Glamorgan and I love Cardiff.

“Hopefully there’s a few more games left to go.”
