Davis had denied murder but pleaded guilty to manslaughter due to diminished responsibility.
During sentencing, Mrs Justice Stacey said Davis was “wholly responsible for Lorna’s death”.
She said: “No-one but you is in any way to blame.
“No punishment you receive will ever compare to the pain you inflicted on Lorna’s family.”
Son Richard described his mum as the most “amazing person – kind, caring and generous in nature”.
He said having to tell his children and sister the news constantly haunted him.
“How could this even be true – what pain, suffering and aggression must mum have endured during her last moments – I had utter disbelief,” he said.
