A man has appeared in court in Dumfries on an attempted murder charge.
It followed an incident on the town’s Criffel Road on Saturday when a 28-year-old man was found seriously injured after reports he had been struck by a car.
Declan Carlton, 29, from Dumfries, appeared in private on petition at the town’s sheriff court charged with assault to severe injury, danger of life and attempted murder.
He made no plea and was remanded in custody.
