Investigations are continuing into the cause of the fire

A man has died in a house fire in a village in the Highlands.

Emergency services were called out at about 21:25 on Thursday to the incident at a property in the Victoria Road area of Brora and he was pronounced dead at the scene.

Police said nobody else had been injured in the fire.

They added that officers remained at the scene along with the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service as investigations continued to establish the cause of the fire.
