Man dies after South Anne Street stabbing

A man has died after he was stabbed in Dublin city centre on Saturday morning.

The incident, which happened on South Anne Street, happened after a row broke out between two groups.

Another man was seriously injured in the incident and is receiving treatment for his injuries.

An investigation is now under way and the scene of the incident and a number of surrounding streets are sealed off.

Sinn Féin’s justice spokesperson called the incident “deeply disturbing” and said that it caused great shock.

Matt Carthy said that there is a “serious problem” in relation to public safety in Dublin city centre, and said that there are not enough gardaí (police) on the streets.
