A 26-year-old man is in hospital after being hit by a car in an attempted murder near Stirling.

A black Ford Fiesta was deliberately driven at him on Stirling Road, in the village of Fallin, at around 21:15 on Tuesday.

Police Scotland said he was in a stable condition at Forth Valley Royal Hospital. The car was later found on fire nearby in Sheriffmuir.

Det Insp Yvonne Moreland said the force was carrying out “extensive inquiries” into the incident.

She added: “We are urging any witnesses to the attempted murder, or anyone who seen the car being driven between Fallin and Sheriffmuir to contact us.”
