Man charged with woman’s murder in Plymouth

A man has been charged with murdering a woman who was found fatally injured in a street in Plymouth.

Paul Butler, 53, has been charged in connection with the death of Claire Chick, who was a nurse and university lecturer.

The 48-year-old was found seriously injured in West Hoe Road on Wednesday and later died in hospital.

Mr Butler, of Stangray Avenue in the city, is due to appear before the Plymouth Magistrates’ Court on Monday.
