Man charged over hit-and-run that killed pedestrian aged 81

A man has been charged in connection with a hit-and-run that killed an 81-year-old pedestrian in West Lothian.

William Brown was using a walking frame to cross Bathgate Road in Blackburn at about 19:15 on 12 July when he was hit by a motorbike.

Mr Brown, who was a school janitor, was taken to hospital with serious injuries, but died a few days later. The rider abandoned the bike and left the scene.

A 38-year-old man has been arrested and will appear in court at a later date.
