Man builds Hull Fair in his front window

A Hull man has brought all the fun of the fair to his front window.

Stephen Sharpe, 71, lives a stone’s throw from Walton Street – the home of Hull Fair.

He has now recreated the fairground in miniature form, complete with lights and moving rides.

Mr Sharpe, of Spring Bank West, said the model was all about “bringing a bit of happiness” to people, adding: “One of the biggest rewards is seeing the smiles on people’s faces, not just the children, it’s the adults as well.”

The model even has a tiny Bob Carver’s fish and chips stand – a long-standing tradition of the annual funfair.
