Man arrested after attempted child abduction report in Guildford

A man has been arrested after reports of an attempted child abduction in Surrey.

Surrey Police said two boys were allegedly approached by a man near St Martha’s Church, off Halfpenny Lane, in Guildford, at 18.20 BST on Friday.

A spokesperson said: “We would like to reassure the local community that we have made an arrest in relation to this incident and our enquiries are progressing.”

Police said they were keen to trace two cyclists who were in the area at the time and might be able to assist the investigation.
