Australia’s Lucas Herbert admits to experiencing a whirlwind of ’emotions’ at Royal Birkdale after his sensational, record-equalling eight-under-par 62. The 30-year-old came close to making golf history by reaching nine under through 17 holes, only for a closing bogey to cost him the first 61 in a men’s major championship.
