Litter anger over TikTok visitor surge at Powys beauty spot

Residents living close to a Welsh forest that has become a social media hit have reacted angrily to litter being left at the beauty spot.

TikTok and Instagram videos of Hafren Forest, near Llanidloes in Powys, have prompted a surge of visitors in recent weeks.

But that sudden popularity is also having a negative impact on the environment.

Resident Victoria Chapman said: “Our home is not your tip. Take your rubbish home.”

Natural Resources Wales said they have “intentionally refrained” from promoting the site to discourage excessive interest.
