Litherland gran Tracy McCormack’s death prompted murder probe

The family of a woman whose death prompted a murder investigation said she was a “beloved mother, sister, grandmother, and friend”.

Tracy McCormack, 55, from Litherland, was found dead inside a house on St Ambrose Croft in Netherton, at about 10:00 BST on Sunday, Merseyside Police said.

The force said “at this stage” her death was being treated as unexplained and enquiries were “ongoing” to determine the full circumstances of how she died with a post-mortem examination set to be carried out.

A 30-year-old woman from Netherton arrested on suspicion of murder has been released on bail while enquiries continue, it added.
