A pilot has been taken to hospital after a light plane crashed into a field.
It happened near Whitehouse Road in Stebbing, Essex and firefighters and other emergency services were called to the scene at about 13:30 BST.
An East of England Ambulance Service spokesman said: “The pilot, an adult male, was transported by road to Broomfield Hospital [near Chelmsford] with minor injuries.”
Scott Fretton, a station manager with Essex County Fire and Rescue Service, said: “Crews assisted our emergency services colleagues with the casualty.”
He added: “They used an off-road vehicle to dampen down the area around the aircraft as there was a risk it would set alight.”
The Air Accidents Investigation Branch (AAIB) said it was aware of an “accident involving a light aircraft”.
“An investigation into the cause of the accident has begun, and a report will be published in due course,” an AAIB spokesperson said.
Andrewsfield Aviation is less than two miles away from Stebbing, while the village is about halfway between Stansted Airport and Braintree.
Essex Police and the air ambulance service were also at the scene.
