World champion boxer Lauren Price said she would celebrate her victory with a Sunday dinner, including “a few pigs in blankets” on her return to her hometown.
Price beat Jessica McCaskill at Cardiff’s Utilita Arena on Saturday to become the new WBA, IBO and Ring Magazine welterweight champion.
She returned to Ystrad Mynach, Caerphilly county, on Sunday and was met by hundreds of well-wishers.
She said she was “overwhelmed” at the turnout and wanted to keep on “creating a legacy for Wales”.
