Newport County have signed forward Josh Martin on a six-month deal.

The 23-year-old was a free agent after leaving The Exiles’ League Two rivals Notts County on Saturday.

Martin’s move to Newport includes an option for him to stay on at Rodney Parade and is subject to international clearance.

As a teenager, Martin made five Premier League appearances for Norwich City in 2019-20 and helped them win the Championship in 2020-21.

“I’m excited to join the club,” said Martin.

“For me, a big part of the move was speaking to the manager (Nelson Jardim).

“I’m looking forward to getting out there, playing with the lads, and starting to put in some good performances.”

Martin has also had loan spells at MK Dons, Doncaster Rovers and Barnsley.

He helped Portsmouth rise from League One to the Championship last season before moving on to Notts County in the summer of 2024.
