St Helens hooker Jake Burns has signed a two-year contract extension to keep him with the Super League club until the end of 2027.

The 25-year-old joined them in early 2022, having signed on an initial three-month trial, and went on to remain with the club for that season.

Since then he has spent time on loan with North Wales Crusaders and Swinton Lions and has also made 19 first team Saints appearances.

“My goal is just to play as many games as possible and build on my experience. I want to get consistent game time and keep improving,” he told the club website., external

“I definitely think we can build on this year, too. We reached the semi-final, but I know the team we’ve got can go even further.”

Burns made his first team Super League debut for Saints against Castleford Tigers in 2024 and scored his first tries in his second appearance, away at Hull FC.

In 2025 he made 10 appearances for St Helens, all but one of which came off the bench.

“I’m thankful for every opportunity I get to play for St.Helens,” he added.

“Hopefully, I can keep building on the past two years and do well for the club in the next two.”
