Jack Charles: Hull Kingston Rovers sign teenager from Hull FC

Hull Kingston Rovers have captured exciting young halfback Jack Charles from neighbours Hull FC.

The Treble winners have wasted no time building on their first Super League title, signing the talented 19-year-old on a four-year deal.

Charles had a breakthrough season in 2024, playing 17 times for the Black and Whites, and figured again in the last campaign, as well as having a spell at Doncaster in the Championship.

The England Academy international is the son of former Robins player Chris Charles, and he told BBC Radio Humberside that the chance to play under head coach Willie Peters and alongside 2024 Man of Steel Mikey Lewis was key to the switch.

The move will not go down well at the MKM Stadium, where Charles was seen as part of a gradual rebuild for KR’s cross-city rivals.

However, Charles said: “I loved my time at Hull FC. There are some great people there, people who have put a lot of time and effort into me in the last couple of years, but this is just something that I couldn’t turn down.

“It’s such a great opportunity for me over the next couple of years to create my own legacy and produce something special. I want to win trophies and win games.”
