The Saudis and the Americans say that it’s just for civil nuclear purposes. It’s unclear what or if there are parameters to stop the Saudis changing tact.
As for the Israelis – well they’re only happy about it if Saudi Arabia agrees to establish diplomatic ties with them. Trump says that’s happening. It doesn’t sound like that was part of the deal agreed this week. Oops.
But first on today’s podcast – the president left his ever more golden Oval Office to head to Dover Air Base to acknowledge the dignified transfer of four US service personnel who died at the hands of the Iranians in the Middle East.
