An inquest has opened into the death of two young men who were killed in a single vehicle traffic collision.

Aled Osian Bowen, 18, from Trecwn, Haverfordwest and Aled William Coleman, 23, from Fishguard, Pembrokeshire were travelling on the A40 between Haverfordwest and Fishguard when they crashed on 14 September at about 03:13 BST.

Post-mortem examinations showed the pair died from traumatic injuries.

Mr Bowen’s family said: “His kindness and spirit will live with us forever,” while Mr Coleman’s family called him “caring, kind, fun loving”.

Pembrokeshire Coroner’s Officer Roger Smith told the hearings that Mr Bowen was a chef and Mr Coleman was unemployed.

Mr Bowen was described by his family as a “cherished son, a devoted brother and uncle and a source of love and strength to everyone fortunate enough to know him”.

They said while their “hearts are broken”, they will “hold tightly to the memories” of the “countless ways he enriched our lives”.

Mr Coleman’s family said he will be “massively missed by all his family.”

Coroner Gareth Lewis extended his “sincere condolences” to the family and friends of both men.

He adjourned the inquest for six months as police investigate.
