Glamorgan have signed Welsh-born Pakistan all rounder Imad Wasim for the remainder of the T20 Blast competition.

The 36-year-old left arm spinner replaces Australian seam-bowling all-rounder Hayden Kerr, who pulled out through injury after playing just two games.

Imad was born in Swansea but emigrated with his family while still a young child.

He has played 75 one day internationals and most recently featured for Islamabad United in the Pakistan Super League.

He has played in the United Kingdom for both Nottinghamshire and Trent Rockets as well as in Australia and West Indies.

“To be able to bring in someone of Imad’s experience and quality at such short notice is fantastic,” said Glamorgan director of cricket Mark Wallace.

“He’ll give us plenty of options to bowl at a variety of times with the ball and as another left-handed batting option in the middle order. We’re looking forward to welcoming him back to Wales.”

Glamorgan hope he will be available for the home match against Sussex on Saturday, 14 June providing he gains clearance in time.
