I Kissed a Girl: South Asian queer representation

Priya Sohanpal, a contestant on the gay dating show I Kissed a Girl, said it is taboo to talk about relationships – let alone queer ones – in South Asian culture.

Since the first two episodes were released on Sunday, Priya said she has been messaged by lots of women thanking her for representing them.

She said she is very thankful she has a supportive family, as she knows many people do not.
