A homeless man who was desperate for work has been offered more than 500 jobs after his call for help was shared online.

Mark, a self-employed roofer from Bridgwater in Somerset, found himself homeless after work dried up while he was caring for his dying father.

Since then, he has been sleeping in a van and getting support from the local church.

He made a sign asking for work, rather than money, and his plea for help was shared on Facebook where it was met with hundreds of offers of work – including some from Italy and South America.
