Hillwalker, 74, dies in fall near Glen Coe

A 74-year-old man has died after falling while descending a mountain near Glen Coe.

The hillwalker was reported overdue on Saturday evening and his body was later found and recovered by Glencoe Mountain Rescue Team volunteers.

The team said the man was an experienced hillwalker, and had spoken to his son after successfully reaching the 857m (2,812ft) summit of Beinn a’ Chrùlaiste.

Inverness Coastguard helicopter was involved in the search, before flying to the Cairngorms to assist in the rescue of two climbers stuck on Shelterstone crag.
