A pair of metal detectorists have been hailed as “heroes” after helping a newly-married couple find their lost rings on a beach.
Sarah Stone and Logan Mills thought the rings, which were family heirlooms, were “gone forever” after they lost them at Embleton Bay in Northumberland while swimming on their honeymoon.
Asking locals to help led the newly-weds from Oxford to Andy Grant and Lorna Rawlings, a metal-detecting couple from Craster.
Grant, who had gained a reputation for finding rings in the area, and Rawlings found the rings within five minutes of starting their search, Stone said.
