Welsh trainer Christian Williams, whose horse Kitty’s Light runs in Saturday’s Grand National, talks about the treatment his young daughter Betsy is receiving for leukaemia.

The six-year-old was diagnosed in early 2023 and Kitty’s Light’s victories in the Scottish National and the Bet365 Gold Cup at Sandown brought some much-needed joy into his family base in Ogmore-by-Sea.

Now the hope is that Jack Tudor can ride 14-1 hopeful Kitty’s Light to Grand National success and continue to deliver brighter moments in a difficult time, and become the first Welsh-trained horse to lift the Aintree prize since Kirkland in 1905.

Williams also talks about how the racing community has rallied around the family, and the treatment his daughter is undergoing.
