Advertisements

A family of sheep farmers in the Republic of Ireland had to dig their sheep out after the animals were buried under several feet of snow in the Galtee Mountains.

The Cunningham family needed help from their sheepdogs to locate the trapped animals and bring them to safety.

Parts of the Republic of Ireland have been experiencing heavy snow and freezing conditions for several days which caused widespread power cuts and left some roads impassable.

This mobile phone footage of the sheep rescues was shared with BBC News NI by Ann Drake.
