Footballer James Hurst jailed for stalking and harassment

A professional footballer has been jailed for multiple offences, including stalking and harassment.

James Hurst, of Somerville Road, Sutton Coldfield, was sentenced to two years in prison and handed a five-month restraining order at Birmingham Crown Court on Wednesday.

The 32-year-old had pleaded guilty to one count of stalking, two of harassment, two of sending false communications and one of breaching a non-molestation order.

Hurst has played for a number of clubs during his career, including West Bromwich Albion, Birmingham City, Shrewsbury Town and Telford AFC.
