Fire crews responded to the blaze at the scrapyard at about 19:20 on Wednesday

Firefighters are tackling a large blaze at a scrapyard in Glasgow.

Six fire engines, a high-reach and specialist resources were dispatched to the S Norton Glasgow East recycling facility on London Road at about 19:20.

Police Scotland said the street had been closed to traffic from Methven Street to Maukinfauld Road and encouraged local residents to keep their windows closed.

A spokesperson for the fire service said no casualties had been reported.
