Firefighters tackle large blaze near Lossiemouth beach

Firefighters were called to the incident on Thursday night

Firefighters have been called out to a large blaze that broke out on land near Lossiemouth’s East Beach.

The Scottish Fire and Rescue Service (SFRS) said it was alerted to the incident at about 18:22 on Thursday.

Large flames and thick smoke could be seen from the area. SFRS said it had not yet classed the incident as a wildfire.

Three appliances and a specialist wildfire unit remained at the incident on Friday morning extinguishing hotspots.
