Ex-players can help referees improve – Willie Collum

New Scottish Football Association head of refereeing Willie Collum is promising increased transparency from his department and better communication with players and coaches, saying he’ll “throw everything into this role”.

Having been the last Scottish referee at a major finals at Euro 2016, he wants to get his officials “back to the very top of the game”.

To help with that, Collum intends to use former players to improve officials’ understanding of the game beyond the regulations.
