Ex-Conservative MP for Bridgend denies false passport charge

A former Conservative MP has pleaded not guilty to possessing a false passport.

Katie Wallis, formerly known as Jamie Wallis, will stand trial next year accused of the charge, which allegedly happened on 5 April 2022.

Ms Wallis, who represented Bridgend from 2019 to 2024, also denied possessing a false passport with improper intention.

Judge Tracy Lloyd-Clarke rejected applications at Cardiff Crown Court earlier to dismiss or pause the case after an hour-long hearing in which Ms Wallis represented herself.

The case was adjourned, and a trial, which is expected to last five days, has been scheduled for November 2026.
