Ethan Galbraith ‘really happy’ at Swansea City, says Vitor Matos

“I think what he offers to the team is clear for everyone. He can offer as an eight, as a six, as a full-back as well,” Matos added.

“So we just hope that he keeps developing, that he can keep the momentum and the consistency, and that’s not easy for a player who was last season in League One.

“I think he’s really happy here as well with us and that’s really important.”

Another of Swansea’s better performers in what has been a difficult season so far has been leading scorer Zan Vipotnik.

Having scored seven times in 2024-25, his first season in English football, the Slovenia international has already netted 11 club goals in this campaign, prompting speculation that he could be a January target for West Ham United.

But Matos dismissed the West Ham link, describing it as “just a rumour”.

Matos, meanwhile, says that as things stand, loan signings Ishe Samuels-Smith, Kaelan Casey, Malick Yalcouye and Manuel Benson will all remain at Swansea beyond the January transfer window.

The Portuguese also anticipates that Swansea youngsters Cameron Congreve, who is at Dundee, as well as Filip Lissah and Kyrell Wilson, who are with Falkirk, will remain with their loan clubs for the remainder of the season.

Swansea go to Championship leaders Coventry City on 26 December with a near fully-fit squad, though centre-back Ricardo Santos will miss out with a hip problem.
