Noni Madueke’s nonchalant first-half goal set England on their way

England thrashed Luxembourg to maintain their hopes of qualifying for the European Under-21 Championship in 2025.

Noni Madueke, Morgan Rogers and Samuel Iling-Junior all scored twice, with Jamie Bynoe-Gittens also finding the net for Lee Carsley’s side.

England have now scored 32 goals in seven matches as they look to reach Slovakia next summer.

However, they remain second in Group F, level on points with Ukraine, who defeated them in October.

The winners of the nine qualifying groups automatically go through to the final tournament along with the best three runners-up.

The other six teams to finish second in their respective groups will compete for the three remaining places in November play-off matches.
