Wakefield have been unsuccessful in their appeal against the suspension given to prop Emre Guler for being sent off for punching in their play-off win over Leigh.
Guler, 28, was initially banned for two matches by the Rugby Football League’s disciplinary panel, which ruled him out of both their semi-final at Wigan and the Grand Final should they reach it.
He has now received an additional five penalty points and been banned for a third match.
Turkey international Guler had agreed a deal to join Trinity for the 2027 season on a three-year contract but was granted an early release by St George Illawarra Dragons to allow him to move to Super League in August.
