Edinburgh Airport tanker staff call off Christmas strike

Fuel tanker drivers at Edinburgh Airport have called off a strike over the festive period after agreeing a new pay deal.

NorthAir workers had said they would walk out for 19 days over Christmas and New Year after rejecting a 4.5% pay increase.

Unite union warned of disruption to flights as the company is the sole fuel supply firm servicing domestic and long-haul routes from the airport.

NorthAir, which employs 57 staff at the airport, said it had been cancelled after a pay rise was agreed.
