Ecstatic England fans in Stowmarket ‘never doubted the boys’

More than 200 people gathered at a Suffolk bar in the early hours to watch England’s 3-2 win over Mexico in the World Cup.

There were ecstatic cheers at the Carbon Sports Bar in Stowmarket as the full-time whistle blew thousands of miles away at the Azteca Stadium in Mexico City, setting up a quarter-final with Norway.

One fan said: “Tough game, with the altitude, the Azteca. But I never doubted the boys.”
