Bicester Motion fire: No charges after police investigation

There will be no criminal prosecutions following the fire at a business park in which two firefighters and a member of the public died, police have said.

Firefighters Martyn Sadler, 38, and Jennie Logan, 30, were both killed in the blaze that engulfed Bicester Motion on 15 May 2025, along with father-of-two Dave Chester.

Thames Valley Police (TVP) said it had concluded its investigation, with no referrals made to the Crown Prosecution Service for charging decisions.

The Health and Safety Executive (HSE) confirmed it was now leading the investigation into the circumstances of what happened.

Two other firefighters were also injured in the fire, which was first reported at about 18:30 BST on 15 May 2025.

It rapidly spread through a former aircraft hangar at the site on Buckingham Road, and a major incident was declared.
